There's a new
destination on South End's Gallery Crawl. Java Passage, behind
EQ3 at South Boulevard and Magnolia joins the monthly
magnification of public displays of art in Charlotte's Historic
South End District.
Their mutual love of
Impressionism led Java Passage Cafe' owners, Debra and Bob
Delano to choose the American Van Gogh as
the first of many artist they will bring to South End.
Among contemporary impressionists, Stefan Duncan has been named
the American Van Gogh by David Wolk of
Van Gogh Gallery. "Van Gogh's work
opened my eyes to the Divine in nature," says Stefan, who
creates what he calls
"Living Spirit Art." After studying Van Gogh, up close and
personal, across the universe, Stefan emerged
with his own style called Squiggleism™; a Van Gogh dash with a
twist, representing a unit of the Divine that exists in
everything.
An artist reception will be held at
Java Passage Cafe' on Friday, September 1st, from 7-10 pm.
Stefan Duncan's images will be on display at Java Passage Cafe'
through September, Monday through Friday from 7am - 10pm,
Saturdays from 8am - 10pm, and Sundays from 8am - 6pm.
Besides ever changing exhibits of fabulous art,
both Java Passage locations offer wonderful views of old, new, and
transitional Historic South End. Java Passage Cafe'
expanded from it's original and ongoing one man Expresso Bar in the
lobby of Design Center of the Carolinas (DCC),
to this entertaining cafe, with expresso, coffee, smoothies,
desserts, lunches, cheese plates, and a growing Wine list.
Java Passage was named
"Charlotte's Best Coffee" by Charlotte Magazine in their 2006
