Sunset on Sunroof Appraised est. value at time of purchase $2,000 (Sold)
This painting was my first of sunset light on a rooftop. This is one of my favorites. The yellow and red roof is to me reflecting glorious light. The Sun is like the Source, the Spirit. The house and tree can both represent a person in awe and reference to the Divine. The lake is the passage between life and death like the River Styx in Greek Mythology. The trial of light upon the water is our faith that we walk upon and are lead to the reuniting of the Divine. Have you seen a person that just seems to really glow. You tell them that and they say it's because they are filled with the Spirit. I see this house as a person. The glorious fire yellow, red is them radiating with the Spirit within them. The squiggles in the sky and tree and ground are moving and doing a kind of dance of life. This painting was shown in Art Papers Magazine fall of 2003 I think.

A young boy gazes into the sky above and wonders about the Living Spirit and where he fits in the scheme of things with the Universe. The three trees represent the Trinity as do the three ghostly white comets. The fire represents his imagination illuminating the darkness around him.

The Journey Before Me
At the backside of Lake Waccamaw is a cove with no houses and looks as though the whole lake is devoid of homes except for the starlight sparkles of lights from homes across the lake. This is like a sacred place to me. The reason it is in dreamscape is that I added hills on the opposite side of the lake, if not for them and cypress trees instead of Cypresses, it would be the lake.
