Stefan Duncan Paintings

Each painting is original. Those paintings that are (series) are paintings due to popular demand that are recreated similar to one another but different. Such painting series are The Glory Tree, Trinity Lake, The Path, etc. It will be listed.  Again, though some of these paintings appear similar they are different and unique from one another. They are not stroke by stroke copies with some variations with each. We do sell giclee prints of each also. These are special prints/copies done on special material and print that will allow the piece to survive several centuries.

(Some symbolic meanings are: Three cypress trees represent the Trinity; cypress trees also represent the gateway between life and death; A source of light represents the Divine; a squiggle is a fractal of the Divine that is in everything that exists; A tree can represent a person with arms reaching out to embrace the Divine and roots are the legs and feet that is our connection to the Earth; Clouds can have various shapes or positioned in ways to give different meanings; Water is the transitional medium between life and afterlife; birds can represent souls their direction and positions can have various meanings; a river or lake can be like the River Styx in Greek Mythology; a boat, like in the River Styx of the man that transports souls between the two worlds; The swirl is from an early  symbol  Celtic or even native American symbol, mounded paths that when walking to the center aids in preparation to be in the right state of mind to communicate with the Divine; sometimes faces and various different objects may be seen in the trees and in the clouds. While many of the symbols have specific meanings to the artist, they can be interpreted differently by the viewer based off their own experiences.)

Are the paintings religious? The paintings act as special lenses to which to view the world. They reveal the Divine and its powerful overtures in all that exists. The Divine in nature here is the very Essence.. the Living Spirit... before it is structured in any of the many philosophical religious beliefs. The swirls and squiggles are vibration and music that is alive moves like a breeze.
